Antique Vintage Three Graces Italian Shell Cameo Brooch Pin 800 Silver Setting F190

Length: 1 Inches; Width: .75 Inches. A well done carved cameo of the 3 graces. Condition is excellent.  Locking clasp on the bar pin. It also has a soldered ring on the back where you could put a jump ring through and use as a pendant if you wished.  The 3 graces were the daughters of Greek gods.  They were associated with the Muses, and were attendants of Aphrodite. They lived on Mount Olympus, where they would host gatherings to entertain the Olympian gods and goddesses, singing and dancing to Apollo’s lyre. The names of the Graces vary from source to source, as do the qualities that they represented. Commonly, they are known as Aglaea (Beauty/Splendour/Brightness/Elegance), Euphrosyne (Good Cheer/Mirth/Joyfulness) and Thalia (Youth/Beauty/Bloom/Festivities).  This would make an excellent gift comes in a gift box.
